Much more jolly photo of Simon, myself and Tim right up the top of the mountain on a very snowy day. We did have a fab time!!!

Tree Climbing

My mum was complaining there was not enough photos of me from the ski trip. Well here I am just after I had stacked into a tree. Ash was laughing so hard it took him a while to get the camera ready. Fortunately I was unharmed. The tree is undergoing treatment.
Ice bar

A much better photo taken by the Ashman of the cool Ice Bar.

1. At the age of 5 in 1975 we took a family holiday to the UK to visit relatives and while sightseeing in London I vomited on the feet of a guard outside Buckingham Palace. The guard didn’t bat an eyelid but then they are famous for this. I blame the dodgey croissants that I was forced to eat for breakfast when all I wanted to have was cereal. We visited the Palace on our next trip in 1979 and my father spotted a stain on the footpath and claimed that it was the one that I left four years earlier. I was mortified.
2. I used to have a terrible phobia of horses possibly due to a fall when I was quite young. My mother, who grew up on a farm and rode everyday, was trying to teach me how to ride while visiting some friends in the country but the horse was spooked by some wild horses in the next paddock and I was thrown. In my late 20’s I briefly dated a guy who played polo (in PNG of all places) and he forced me to get back on a horse and get over my fear.
3. When I was around 8 years old I ate talcum powder just to see what it tasted like. It made me vomit. I was always a curious child!!
4. At the age of 21, I was married -briefly - to somebody who didn’t know how to stop dating other people. It only lasted 18 months but it wasn’t until two years later that the divorce was finalised. It was a learning experience abeit very trying.
5. I have lived with 4 cats.
Sammy Davis Jr (Samantha) - a tabby - who was sadly hit by a car in 1979.
Rubric Lilac Lite Sabre (Sabre) - a lilac Burmese - who we bought as a kitten in 1980 and lived until the right old age of 18 until his kidneys failed.
Audrey - a russian blue from an animal shelter - currently living the life of a pampered princess with friends of my mothers at the Gold Coast.
TuTu - a white temple cat/japanese fighting cat - rescued at a Meguro temple by Mie and often featured on this blog as she is my princess.
Now I am pointing the bone at Sigsy, MediaTinker, ThreadsofGold, Troy, Frangipani.

Hella expensive but cute idea.
30th birthday celebrations at the snow!

It was gorgeous weather today with clear blue skies. The snow was a bit dodgey in places as there hasn’t been fresh snow for a few days and all the runs were quite compacted and some were a bit icy.
I fell a few times catching some ice. Right after this photo was taken I had a massive stack and now have a huge bruise on my left knee - just another one to add to my collection.
Last day of skiing tomorrow though so hope to be up early and make the most of it.

My darling Papa is a year older today.
But to me he will always be similtaneously 100 years old and ageless, fun, fearless, strong and honest to the core. The fixer-upper-er of everything a daughter needs in her discovery of life and the higher standard that all other men are measured against - warts and all.
He has taught me so much and I have learned so much from him in turn. He showed me the beauty of the world and gave me the courage and curiousity to forge my own path. The more I know him, the more I want to know him as my family and as my friend.
I love you Dad!!
Have a great birthday!!

Kristen, the Ashman and I tried out snowboarding for the first time. It was great. Lots of bruises and sore muscles but it was totally worth it. Went back on the skis today though as it is better snow for skiing. Plus I have a bruised tailbone and I don’t want to hurt it anymore just yet.
