Akazawa Onsen in Izu. A quick overnight minibreak. Lovely day spa style onsens overlooking the Pacific and way too much food. A DHC resort so lots of products to play with.
Bar type rather than fingers. Very scary yellow colour and tastes like a banana paddlepop. Ice cream from my youth in australia and brings back happy memories of long summer days at the beach.
8/10 mainly for the paddlepop memories.
Thank you for my chocolate surprise.
[Edit - I sent this to my blog by mistake… I meant to send it to the Ashman who makes my lunch every day that is full of healthy vegetables but today he wrapped up a little mini chocolate bar as a little surprise treat. But I thought rather than delete it from my blog I would keep it here as a reminder.]
Stole this from Tod’s desk.
Dark chocolate with the chilli hit at the end at the back of the throat.
Not to our taste.

Time stamp: 15 March 2000
Yours truly steps off the plane with plans to live and work in Tokyo for around two years. I arrived with all my clothes, shoes, CD’s, selected photos and tupperware. Everything else had been packed and stored at my parents house (sorry about that Mum and Dad) or else sold, given away or tossed.
Flash forward to today: 15 March 2010
Your truly is now married, pregnant and very happy with her husband, home, job, friends, family and life in Tokyo. Will look at getting Permanent Residence this year so we have options if we ever want to leave and come back.
Reflections over the last decade:
Way too many for a short blog post but looking back over this blog that covers nearly half of this time (from April 2005) it is interesting to remember the ebb and flow of my life here.
What hasn’t changed are my core values of the importance of family, friends, joy, fun and peace. The pleasures that can be gained from doing something well be it at work, at play or connecting people, creating smiles and solving problems are also constants.
Anyway, not planning a party or anything like that, but I just wanted to make note of this day. It has been a great decade.
With a side show of old drunk dude getting thrown out of sushi shop.
The sushi was awesome.
Some scary stuff in here.
For Mum!! Enjoy!!

Sakura Macha flavour.
Chocolate is white base coloured to green with macha but not overpowering macha that can be strong. Inside wafer has slight pink colour and sweet taste. Not sure what sakura is supposed to taste like though.
Overall good but not to our personal tastes. Japanese girls might like it though.
5/10
Thanks to Tod for buying this for me.
