This just happened and I just have to share it.

I put Max down for bed around 8:30. He woke up for a feed around 11pm and I heard him via the baby monitor rolling around and coughing. He made a few little whimpering noises so I knew that was my cue to go down and see him. We have his cot set up as a co-sleeper on my side of the bed. He was sitting up in his cot at the far side corner. He is very good at sitting up by himself now.
I got up onto the bed on my side and whispered something like, “Oh darling you are sitting up. You should come over here to Mummy. Do you want some milk?”
He then face plants straight down onto his cot mattress. Didn’t even attempt to put down his hands as he was obviously just so tired and still half asleep. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time.
I burst out laughing of course and scooped him up quickly but he didn’t cry at all.
After a little feed he settled straight back down and he is now sleeping soundly again. I hope this blog is still live when he is old enough to appreciate how funny this was.
It is quite hard to unclip one’s nursing top when you are trying not to laugh outloud.
