At temple asking for a trouble and pain free labour.  Today is day of the dog in Japanese calendar. Dogs are supposed to have pain free births so on this day pregnant women in their fifth month head to the temple for a blessing. 
They gave us a cup of sake to drink and a paper pompom was waved over us. It was awesome.

    I did this and my labour was five hours from start to finish- so perhaps it does help???

    Which temple did you go to? I went with my MIL and Grandmother in law around 5 months too.

    We went to Togo Jinja in Harajuku which is just a few minutes from my office. The Ashman was there as was my assistant, Mika.  It was certainly an experience I won’t forget in a hurry.  If it works or not remains to be seen. Then again, there is always the epidural!!
